Hi Brian,
The thread size is 12mm x 1mm.
The tubes on the petcocks were different for the right and left petcocks
in order to serve as a reserve...
The left petcock had a taller tube and the holes in the tube did not go
all the way to the bottom.
The right petcock had a shorter tube and the holes in the tube went
clear to the bottom.
The idea being to turn on the left petcock...the, when you run out of
gas, turn on the right petcock.
The commonly available aftermarket one's replace the tubes with wire
screens that go all the way to the bottom on both sides.

Can anyone tell me what the thread size is for the petcocks? I read somewhere that some loops used different sized petcocks for left/right because of the reserve tap- is this correct? |
