Yes, I had freeplay at the end of the throw. If anything,
there was less "freeplay" at the inside "lever closed" end
of the throw, meaning the clutch disengaged just before I
ran out of lever action, and engaged, just after starting
to release the lever. -tom

How did you originally adjust the clutch? Was there some sloppy freeplay at the outer end of the throw? I'm a real stickler about clutch handle freeplay. People adjust out ALL of the freeplay which overloads and destroys the rear throwout bearing. Might want to pull that out and look. Easier if you pull off the swingarm.
