If the outer clutch plate (biggest plate with teeth on the outside) has its teeth worn on the edges what course of action would you take? I never had the bike when it ran so i dont know if it was ever a problem. |
Confused. Do you mean the "floater" clutch plate between the two
friction plates? That has teeth on its outside. If these teeth are
worn, the will bind or jam on the interior spline grooves of the
flywheel. The clutch with get grabby.
Or, do you mean the ring gear which is the large final cover plate. It
has teeth on the outside which are engaged by the starter motor. These
teeth are SUPPOSED to have worn or angled corners so that the starter
pinion slides in and doesn't bind in the teeth as it is pushed forward.
Wear hear is normal and wont be a problem.
