Hi Ray,
I chose a Super Practic over the Tomaselli for my project and have been
using the original on the '69. Bought a couple of NOS ones when I had
the chance, I too admire the design. Most use the Tomaselli to ease the
throttle effort - if the throttle, cables and splitter are all lubed
well with the Super Practic, the effort is nearly the same (from my
experimentation anyway). The Tomaselli is a slightly "quicker" throttle
though, requiring less twist for more go. I just don't care to have two
throttle cables - would seem to me the shorter cables from the splitter
to the carbs would leave less room for stretch and incorrect
synchronization. Just my $.02 worth. Charlie.

Hi, I have a beautiful Super Practica B throttle for the Eldo. Excellent condition. It is as amazing a piece of art deco mechanism as the gas cap. I would really like to use it. I've seen and read so many indications that the Tomaselli's a better throttle that I'm wondering...do some of you run the Super Practica with success? I'm not unfamiliar or afraid of the adjustments involved. Just wondering. Ray pax sine tedio 73 Eldo "19" |
