Since my '69 came sans turn signals, I wired the
lights on my Shoei bags for that function. They are
single-filaments, and I,too, was concerned about the
possibility of being invisible from the back in the
case of a blown taillight. I was so taken by the dual
taillights on the 1999 Californias that I made up a
bracket and mounted an additional taillight assembly
so that now my Ambo has two brake lights/taillights at
all times. I looks pretty good in my opinion, though
not stock. From the rear one sees two taillights, to
bags, to turnsignals, two mufflers, two protruding
cylinders, two bar-ends, etc.: one for each side of
the bike. Very symmetrical.

feel more at ease knowing that if it burns out there's
still rear lighting."
