Pix are worth 1000 words, now I understand where that arm was hitting
the case. Clearly it looks like you need(ed) to adjust the linkage out
more so the arm was pointing farther to the ground, therefore giving you
the proper throw and not hit the case. Making that adjustment may
require you to move your gear selector a tooth to get it back to where
it is comfortable to shift. Seeing that pic has me curious enough to go
check mine now to see if the old arm is hitting the case when I shift.
Don't think it is as I have aligned the SOB exactly as the original was,
slightly pointing downward. I think I may also tack weld the SOB so it
does not slip - will have to find someone who can do that for me as well
as weld my muffler bracket back together.
Thanx for the pix.

Hi Keith, First off, I think you are good to go with your set up the way it is pictured. I don't think you will have any trouble with that rod breaking as it is a larger diameter than 6mm allthread. Second, I added some more information to my website - with pictures - about how I have it set up now. Just take a look at this link and let me know if you have any additional questions. http://www.thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/loopframe.htm#shift_linkage Finally, I did have slippage problems with the SOB. I filed on the bracket to try to get a tighter fit, but that didn't get the job done. I ended up putting a small weld on it to hold it in place. I never tried a chemical approach (such as loc tite, etc.). As for the salt air - I've just about got all of the Greg Barratt stainless on the loop. I just need one last push to get the rest taken care of. I've also sourced a proper 6mm linkage rod from McMaster-Carr...so I'll be replacing the allthread soon enough.
