Forgot to mention that I'll be posting some pics of one on the "Tips"
page of my site tonight.

A few weeks ago I posted about my search for a better quality brake cable. Today I received my cables from Barnett (Thanks to Joe Jump!) and they are excellent both in appearance and function. Once installed and adjusted on the '72 Ambo project bike, the lever is firm and the fit perfect. The inner cable is the same diameter as the original off of my '69, but the outer housing and ends are actually smaller diameter lending a less bulky look. The adjuster and ends appear to be stainless. Should note that these do not have a brake light switch and I'm not sure if Barnett can do one with it. Cost was $36 each + shipping. I ordered two after discovering the original off of the '69 (that I sent to Barnett as a sample) had the adjuster busted in half. Likely this happened in my little collision with a large bird running across the road near Bedford, PA a few years ago. |
