I pressed the pinion assembly into the rear drive case, then dropped the
crown gear in and buttoned it up with two opposing bolts. Looking
straight down into the case I can see approx 1/8" of the pinion gear
sticking out beyond the edge of the crown. Seems really drastic. Much
more than a few shims could solve. Any ideas? Is this maybe normal? I
haven't gotten to the point of painting the gears and assessing yet. Was
kinda shocked by what I saw.
