Got the standard single arm shifter on the Ambo. Current shift pattern
is 1 up 3 down. I'm planning on getting the shifter offset bracket from
Steve Brenton to reverse that pattern. The current set up has sloppy
linkage which makes going into 1st gear a real bear unless you have
super range of motion in your ankle to pull the arm up to get it in 1st
gear or when downshifting. I tried moving the arm down a tooth on the
gear but it hasn't seemed to help. Seems like going down to 2nd, 3rd,
or 4th gear isn't a problem, just downshifting or going to 1st gear.
The play is where the bracket and arm going to the shift arm come
together. I'm thinking my choices are to find a dual arm shifter
(heel-toe) or somehow fix the linkage. Any ideas or does anybody have a
heel-toe shifter laying around they could sell to me? I would want the
one with the high rise, not the flatter heel-toe for floorboards.
