Hi Gunnar,
The easiest way I've found to do it is with the engine out of the frame
sitting so that the clutch is facing the sky. Then, just take the clutch
input hub off of the transmission input shaft (I think you are replacing
those seals, anyway) and use it to align everything up. Someone on this
list (I forget who) has stated in the past that one of the cylinderical
motor mount spacers fits very nicely inside the clutch hub so that you
get every thing lined up. Then use one of the (I think this is what is
recommended) motor mount bolts to compress the springs by screwing it
into the end of the crank. You may have to come up with some spacers to
take up the extra bolt length. I'm pretty sure the bolt needs to be 12
mm x 1.5 mm. Hope this helps!
