Hi Keith,
John and I both use the SOB (Shift Offset Bracket) made by Stephen
Brenton. Stephen made it for the Eldo 5 speed, but it can also be made
to work on the Ambo 4 speed. The clearances are very tight between the
clutch cable and arm and the shift lever, but it does work if you do a
little creative bending with your linkage.

My 70 Ambo has the 1 up 3 down shift pattern - would like to reverse it if possible. Thus far everything I have seen won't work because my shifter arm that the clutch cable attaches to gets in the way of any sort of arm linkage (I looked at the shift linkage on Greg Benders site). John Ulrich - I'm looking close at what you did in the pix of the link you sent, but I don't see the shifter arm/clutch cable. Is your arm/cable on the same side of this linkage and how did you make this reverse pattern linkage fit without getting in the way of the clutch arm? Where did you get this reverse pattern linkage?
