I mocked it up a couple weeks ago using 2 of the thick Eldo disk brake
spacers and it seemed good. I won't know for sure until I actually bolt it
all up, which is maybe a week or so away. I have to measure them for
another project anyway, so if I can today, I'll take the wheel apart and
measure thickness. Or, if you already have a disk eldo, I think you'll need
another just like the one you have. Maybe a year (or two?) ago I bought on
ebay the remains of a crashed disk brake eldo front end, missing lots of
pieces, but including the disk brake fork top plugs and 2 of the thick eldo
disk carriers/bearing carriers. The PO also had one of the thinnest spacers
(like CX100, maybe 7mm?) attached to one of them, so I thought perhaps I had
to use it, but in my mock up it wasn't required. I was also pleasantly
surprised to find that apparently the rear axle from a LM1000 is suitable as
a front axle for a dual disk eldo, I thought I was going to have to have the
local machinist make me an axle, now he's only got to make me a couple small
bearing spacers. The disk eldo front axle is longer than say, the common T3
front axle.

Since you are doing the duel disc thing, do you know what disc spacer you
need to use to add a 2nd disc to a eldo or what the thickness is. I have a
box of different spacers and am having trouble finding the right one

thx

It's gonna be somewhat personalized, but is mostly Guzzi parts, and will
have a stock appearing black paint job, so it's nothing that will stand out
in a crowd. I've been collecting some choice eldo parts for several years,
I now have what I need to make up a nice one, so I figure it's time. It's
gonna be double disks up front, with a cush drive 850T rear drum setup in
back. Gonna use the black and white 850GT California seat with the chrome
rail around the back, and the proper chrome rack behind it. Gonna use the
V700/Amb single instrument console with a Convert speedo, need to hide a
couple LED idiot lights somewhere off to the side. It's gonna have the big
handlebars and floorboards, and the big side stand. Gonna use Greg Fields'
alternator conversion rather than scrounge for a decent generator, bracket,
and regulator. Have a set of squarish unknown bags at the painter now, but
"bought it now" a set of Bates bags that I think I'll end up using because I
think I'll like them better, if they ever show up on my doorstep. Gonna use
the repro Guzzi police/utility fairing, gonna have to make up brackets to
mount it. All in all it should be Deluxe with a capital D. Ebay has been
good to me. I just stuck the motor and trans into the freshly powdercoated
frame tonight. Only scratched it a little....

You shop guys are all the same. :) It will probably show up tomorrow anyway.
Just been so anxious to get Elvira's motor back together and into the frame.
Been keeping myself busy bead blasting and painting small parts here and
there. Weather permitting, might work on my tank some more this weekend. So
you doing the Eldo stock or personalizing it a little?
