I like a thin coating of Permatex 300 (also known as Aviation Permatex)
in some areas that I won't have to take apart often and want to make
they seal. It doesn't dry completely so removal is easy. On valve cover,
engine sump , rear drive sump gaskets and others that I'll have to
disassemble more, I rub a little regular bearing grease on both sides of
the gasket. Nice side benefit is that the gaskets come off clean and can
be reused. Cheers,

In your opinion/experience, is it better to install motor gaskets (except headgasket) with or without a glue or silicone gasket material? Gunnar http://www.72guzzi.2ya.com/ |
