whatI have heard with the 4 speeds are, if it ain't broke don't f@#!k with it! I hear they are very complex and once they are disassembled it is nearly impossible to get them back together correctly the 1st time, perhaps the 4th or 5th would work! |
Don't scare me after the fact!
They have one less gear set (5th) to fit in the case. A 3rd hand can
come in helpful when positioning the shift levers. The drum "selector"
rachet mechanism is the only "challenge" if you want to call it that.
The resulting difference in shift quality a thin washer can make on the
end of the drum is worth the effort. (my rear drum washer was missing as
was Greg Benders)
Besides, how can you keep curiousity in check without popping the lid
off?
