Thanks Paul. The barrels and heads are round. The headers
and exhaust nuts are secured to the heads with studs and
nuts. When I dropped the oil pan, there was no filter -
just a screen. It also has a Dyna electronic ignition.

Does this still sound like a T3 motor?

Are there any external features to the top end that would
indicate the displacement? Thanks.

Scott,

The motor is probably from a T3. For the left fork slide you
can attach
another caliper to it as long as you have the correct parts
on that side for
the second disc. Those pieces are hard to come by and can be
very expensive.
Are the barrels round or square looking? If round then they
can be Eldo, T
and T3 or even convert (1000cc).

Subject: Bike/Motor Identification

Hi,
I'm going through a new to me bike and I need some help
figuring out what I've got here. Its titled as a 1974
Edorado. The previous owner thought it was an LAPD model.

The following information is stamped on the steering head ID
plate:
Build Date: Oct 1973
Model Year: 1974
Engine No: 060691
Frame No: 060691

The number stamped on the engine case, just forward of the
oil dipstick, is: VC * 093878 *

This motor has an alternator cover (round) rather than a
generator cover. Carbs are VHB30

The bike has a single front disk brake on the right. The
left fork slider has mounts for a caliper.

Does it sound like I have a later model motor in the bike?
What else should I look at to ID the motor? Whats the story
with the left fork slider - is it likely to be stock, did it
have a dual disk setup at one time, did it come from the
factory that way (with mounts but not caliper)? Thanks.
