Subject: clutch difficult to pull

I recently took my '74 eldo clutch apart, cleaned it up, replaced the
transmission input gear and put everything back together.
I attached the cable and the clutch lever seems significantly harder to
pull. I couldn't figure out why, the only thing I can think is that maybe
some of my springs weren't completely seated. Any ideas on what might cause
this?
