Hi Gunnar,
As Darrell suggested heat from a torch (or heatgun) will help. Dennis
Kirk, Chaparral and other sell the Motion Pro piston pin puller (about
$30), but you could make someting similar from a length of PVC pipe,
bolt, nut and washers. If you're careful and don't care about the
piston, you can use a socket that fits into the piston pin hole and a
hammer to drive the pin out. Support the piston on the side opposite the
side you're driving from to keep from bending the rod, damaging the rod
bearing, etc. Cheers,
I have a tough time to remove the wrist pin on one piston. The other came out with no problem. I could take the rod with piston out and press out the pin but I don't want to take the bottom part off. Anyone have an idea on what tool/technique to use to press/pull the pin out? Gunnar http://www.72guzzi.2ya.com/ |
