Ted,
I think you are talking about the rear trans cover. That should stay on
until you have the trans out of the bike. I believe you need to remove the
swingarm and take out the bolt that goes thru the rear cover and foot pegs.

Okay, I have the engine loose, the battery tray out. I just need to know,
where I disconnect the motor from the rear wheel.
The motor bell housing bolts to the tranny. The tranny bolts (via hex key
bolts) to a slim item that is connected to the drive shaft boot which is
connected to the swingarm.
What do I need to unbolt to be able to pull the motor so I can replace the
clutch?
