Bad news. Route it anywhere you want as long as it is away from heat.
The cable has a plastic coating. If that melts, the heat source gets at
the inner steel spring coil. When that gets hot, it melts the cable
housing internal liner. The central, sliding cable then gets coated
with this hot, melted lining. When it cools overnight, it solidifies
around the cable windings. It will never move again after that. Ask me
how I know.
