That level plug is useless I welded mine up and called it a day.
I just measure the lube and moly and pour it in.

I'm planning on swapping it out this winter for my 850T rear end setup and will get the hole welded shut and a new hole drilled for the correct bolt. Isn't there something about raising the hole in Guzziology?

First suspect is the large diameter oil seal. Second would be the gasket seals between the drive and the shaft housing. Third would be the small diameter internal oil seal. Examine a parts breakdown closely.
