Hi Ted,
MG Cycle has them (http://www.mgcycle.com/piston.html) as well as others
here in the states.
Using Nikasil cylinders is better than having the cylinders re-sleeved
with iron because iron and alluminum expland differently so you will
have to allow for additional clearances or risk seizing the pistons
inside the cylinders (pistons expand before the iron sleeves expand,
etc.). Furthermore, since alluminum tranmsmits (conducts?) heat better
than steel, your pistons and cylinders will run cooler.
As for price, a complete set up will run you around $600. I haven't
priced sleeving, so I don't know about that (but assume it would be
somewhat less expensive).
All this being said, my Ambassador came with a set of LA sleeves that
were in good, serviceable condition with the correct tolerances. I've
been running them with no problems.

Hi Guy`s Anyone have the email address for the Nicasil kits that you can get in Italy. How does this compare to resleiving the old ones? Ted Ambo 750 |
