Bob,
During my fight with the generator bracket on my trip to Indiana I used
some copper washers designed for brake lines because I've always treated
the crush washers as one time use items. They allowed a slight weeping
of oil to start after 1000 miles or so. I replaced them with aluminum
ones and upon inspecting them they had no evidence of 'crushing' so
maybe they were too hard. My input would be to use only the aluminum
ones.
