Subject: Fork lock cover rivet

I need to remove the rivet holding the fork lock cover to the frame in
preparation for paint (or powder) and would like to accomplish this
without damaging the chrome cover. Pretty much boogered up the last one
I removed - any tips that might help? I have a new rivet, so that's
disposable. Thanks!
