I had the bad stumpy side stand on my 850t and modified a 70's triumph side stand to work. MG cycle sells a weld on police mount that goes on the lower frame rail. J&P sells a HD side stand kit that looks like the Guzzi unit

I am not sure if the bolt pattern is the same

Hail Loopers,
I know this isn't a loop question, but I own a Loop... you quys know all...THE PROBLEM- I have an 850-T that came without an attached kick stand. The former owner told me that a woman knocked it over in a parking lot and "hyper extended" the kickstand...
After getting tired of extended Guzzi-dancing and always having to look for a flat, hard place to put her on the center stand, I tried to install a kickstand that came with the bike... it looks too short and doesn't seem to want to hold up the bike... there is a slightly bent steel mounting tab bolted to the frame that the stand is supposed to mount on..I have heard moaning from at least one 850-T owner that the stock kickstand are no good, so they got a Harley-style kickstand...
THE QUESTION (multiple choice)- can I get a kickstand, mounting bolt and return spring for this bike or should I consider having a police or harley style kickstand welded on? Thanks for your observations and advice...
P.S. Anybody got a good condition Windjammer SS or similar faring that they want to unload?
Thanks,
Noel McCormack
