I just think it is too bad for US who restore these bike out of love for
them, that we cannot realise a better return on our
investment/labor/time within the motorcycling comunity when and if we
want/need to sell. Our Guzzis get no real respect out there! Even
insurance comanies won't give us what we believe they are worth if we
have a 'get-off'.(right, Kev?)
Well, I restored my Eldo from the ground up, but if I had done so in an
attempt to make a "return on my investment/labor/time" I'd have been a
fool (not that restoring one to keep and ride is any less foolish).
Screw the motorcycling community! It has become as diverse as the rest
of the country, and have little in common with my fellow citizens as
well.
I have established-rate insurance on my old bikes, so I know up front
what they are worth because I told them the value on which to base the
premiums.
