Hi Roberto and all,

First off, welcome Bill!

You ended up missing the National also, Roberto? Here I was thinking of
how good of time you must have been having out in SD!

Never been to a Guzzi Rally I didn't enjoy - even with rain, mechanical
difficulties, etc. Some are just a bit better organized than others. I
like it that way - if they were all alike and homogenized I'd lose
interest and enthusiasm (sort of like Guzzis).

At any rally though I believe it is more interesting to have something
other than the usual late model Guzzis. I don't think there is really
anything that a rally organizer can do to draw more
"classic/vintage/antique" machines - this is more a function of the
rally attendees. Lists such as this one and the MGS are good for
convincing/shaming/threatening your buddies into riding that crusty old
crock instead of the nice new shiny one (I guess best-case would be a
nice shiny old one?):-).

I really appreciate the organizers that do have an Oldest Guzzi (ridden
or otherwise) Award, but it's not something that is of utmost importance
to me. If they didn't, I'd still enjoy their rallies just as much. It's
more a matter of pride in my old ride than anything else for me!

Hope to see you (and many others) at VMD, Roberto! Cheers,

Charlie.
