Well, airplane guy talkin here, but 220 f is about redline on most air
cooled engines. They *can* run for extended periods at these temps, but
I've gotta wonder why an over cooled Guzzi is getting hot. :(
A leak down test would take the guesswork out of whether it's blowby, or
bearings..
If the extended sump gives you an extra quart of oil, it sure couldn't hurt.
If it were me, I'd go to the Nats, and try to not worry about it until I
got back. The synthetic isn't going to break down at these temps. Maybe
take off the oil temp and pressure guages?? :)

Now, I put the extended sump from my LeMans on there and hope to get out for a ride in an hour or so to see if that makes any difference. I also changed out the pop-off valve for a known good one.
