When did they stop putting the extra casting (the one that hangs down

Anyway, I plan to use it and the Convert engine I have in "Freebie" the '72 Ambo. I remember a post regarding the speedo cable position of the later trans. and how modify the Loop battery tray to clear (Dave Washburn?) Or should I just find an Eldo rear trans. cover? |
Hi Charlie, You are going to make an Ambo with a Convert motor with a
5-speed?
We are here to help:

The greasy hunk in the first two pictures is from a 1977 SP, no extra
casting that I can see. I think my 5-speed back cover was from a 1975
"T". It had the casting but it was not machined for the shifter so I
asked Manfred to do it when he rebuilt the transmission.
The third greasy hunk photo is of the mod to the battery tray. I made a
nice big hole so I can change the speedo cable without taking apart the
bike.
Prizes to anyone who IDs the last photo. It is in VA.
