Hello, all: I've been using NAPA 3/8" door edge molding(black) around
the bottom edge of original loop seats.(part # 730-4232) May come in
other colors, too??) Force it over the edge of the pan and vinyl all
the way around the seat. Keeps the vinyl from chaffing through around
the edges and looks great too. Would also cover and protect a spot
where cover has just barely started to wear through. Remove one side of
the passenger grab strap, start at nose and work on all the way around.
When you get to the vertical mounting tabs, take a tiny nipper and cut
off the inside of the trim strip just enough to get it to seat cleanly.
The molding has it's own glue already in the channel. Just press it on
and it stays real well. I put a healthy dab of Goop adhesive on each
end at the nose on the inside where it won't show, keeps the ends from
starting loose.
I've also been putting the same molding on the front edge of the right
side cover where it tends to contact the fuel line if you're running
double banjos instead of the stock fuel crossover. No sharp steel edge
rubbing fuel line. (Greg--OK to use this if you find it useful)
