Ray,
According to BJ Schwarts, there IS supposed to be some play in the crank
and it is adjusted from that nut. I was over at his house one day and he
was trying to explain it to me, but, John and I both like to drink wine
and his explanation got lost somewhere in the fog that is my memory!
I would suggest you call BJ(his number was posted a couple days ago) or
Mark @MG Classics, or, go to www.guzzitech.com. There is an abundance of
rebuild info there. Ed may even reply to you hisself! He is a very good
Guzzi mechanic.

Was assembling the top end last night (again, don't ask). When it was together and ready for valve lash adjusting I used the generator pulley nut to turn the motor over. As soon as it was tight, the motor refused to turn anymore. |
