Hmmm, interesting. Well I guess that explains a few things. The last
Convert I worked on had a hole drilled in the ball end of the clutch
lever and a large split ring was in there. You could pull the lever back
and flip the ring around the handlebar grip. I thought it was kind of
neat, but figured it was some sort of bodge. Since there is a "neutral"
light on the dash, I figured there must be a neutral in the tranny. I do
know that pulling in the clutch lever allows the engine to start. Like I
said, its not like you really need a neutral.

Daryl: There is NO neutral on the Convert. Neutral is located in your shop tool box. You pull in the clutch lever, wrap a bungee around it, and go about your work. There is no detent position on the sliding gear on the internal shaft. It either slides into low or it slides into high without stopping in between. Patrick |
