Hey Ian,
That is a good thread. Thanks for bringing it up. I came into
loopframes kind of sideways. I bought a G5 back in '82- I was 19 years
old and working in oil field, so I paid cash for it (still have that
bike). I bought it from a place in Austin, TX, and there was a mechanic
there named Buster who had THE MOST BEAUTIFUL Eldo I've ever seen. He
was a character and great fun to talk to as well as an ace mechanic. He
showed me a lot of tricks for Guzzi's that have served me well for many
years and over 200,000 miles. Well, fast forward 20 years- I've grown
up (physically), got a job (doh!) and I've never been able to forget
Buster's bike. So...I and went looking for something similar. Bought a
74 Eldo from a fellow in Illinois, then bought another 74 from Dave Otis
just recently. Joy.
Actually- I just took the Eldo for a ride this morning in eastern IA.
Man o' man the weather is nice (not for long, though). I had a nice 75
miles of big ole grin going on. Hope your day worked out as well.
Cheers,
Jason
