I have no suggestions that haven't already been mentioned but know the
syndrome. My G5 clutch became painful enough that I learned to
bang-shift like a pro. Hoping to avoid that on the Eldo I'm building.
I have looked at MG's hydraulic unit and at their RAM clutch assembly,
both claiming easier clutch pull. My grip is very lame, since my
accident in 2000. I would love to hear from anyone who runs either of
these "fixes" mentioned above. I have to replace the clutch anyway so
the RAM wouldn't be out of the question if it really helps on the clutch
pull. Need to hear more details on the installation of the hydraulic
unit. Any help out there?

At the risk of sounding like a girly-man, is there any way to lighten up the clutch handle? Mine is so damn stiff, it eventually hurts to pull. My cable is relatively new. Would lubing it help? There is no adjustment ring on the handle as I have seen on many other bikes. Are all loops like this? For the record, I have a pretty good grip. Cam in NJ '74 Eldo Police |
