This past weekend, I had time to tinker with the front brakes on the
Eldo since they had a tendency to not fully return. Removed the wheel,
shoes, lubed the splined pivot points, lubed the brake shoe pivot
points, reassembled and put back on the bike. Putting those brake shoe
springs back on was a Royal PITA.
When adjusting the brake cable (2 years old), I have almost run out of
adjusting bolt at the front wheel. When the shoes were new, they barely
fit inside the drum - hardly used the adjusting bolt at all. There
doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the shoes travel like you can on an
auto. Is there a minimum shoe thickness ?
