Tom,

One slightly scratched fairing on the LeMans...$50

A visit to the Chiropractor...$100

Skidding upright for 100 feet, dumping the bike on soft earth, missing the
trees on the edge of the road and ending up with merely a sore body and
bruised ego....priceless.

REAL mistakes are the ones that are repeated. :-)

It was great hanging with you and David this past weekend. I look forward to
the next time. Of course if you ever get the urge to come visit me...whether
it be here in north GA or back in my homeland of Canada you guys are more
than welcome. I always have a couple of spare bikes at the ready.

...Ian

On Saturday Ken Pitts lead about nine of us on a 100+ mile jaunt
through the
mountains...

I just wanted to thank you loop framers for letting me tag along on your
ride even though I made an unplanned get off at an unplanned turn. Ken
did warn me that the new leader (who I cannot remember his name) was as
smooth as silk and to be careful but of course that went right out of my
head as soon as we started off and he did request that I release him from
any blame. When I finally came to the realization that he was too
knowledgeable of the road we were on (duh...) I was already committed to
that road with the rise, sharp turn to the right and then Oh My God I
can't make the next turn.........pucker,lock rear brake (I have a Lemans
with linked brakes which I use every day and the 1000S was de-linked by
previous owner and the winter project is to relink) skid and then high
side bike and slide down hill on my chin all the while thinking this was
not such a good idea, and yes I am going to my chiropractor on Thursday
to be yelled at for being stupid (her words) For those who were concerned
by the Nolan hinged helmets popping open, they do work going down hill at
about 35 miles an hour. Funny how from Oh My God to standing by the bike
trying to look like nothing happens takes about three hours or seems to
anyway. Well for my first crash since my mini-bike days, I must say that
the Asheville area is a great place.

PS. Ian, come on up to NYC anytime for great summer viewing of our latest
non-plastic and plastic surgeon parades.:)
