It did indeed break at the throttle body end of the cable. This is the first
cable of any kind, to break, in the 37,000 miles I have put on the bike. The
cable may have been close to breaking anyway, but it was helped along by the
carb slides being stuck in place from a monsoon I had recently ridden through.
