I tried unsuccessfully to buy two of those alternators for Gary Cheek and myself, but the stock had already been sold. The supplier only accepted orders mailed in and I was a "day late and a dollar short".
I can't remember for sure who modified the VW Type III generator either, but it runs in mind that it was Tom Bowes. Cheers,

It has an internal regulator and puts out 40 amps. The pulley diameter is slightly smaller than the Bosch generators and the outside diameter is about the same. Looks like it could be mounted to a modified generator bracket and would not require any modification to the belt cover done that way. They only have 26 of them so I'll try and get one a.s.a.p. and see how it will work out. If it doesn't, well I can always upgrade one of my tractors!
