Keith is looking for a new site for the rally in the same area - hopefully
will be secured for next year. Just before last year's National, a young
woman drowned near the site. The College has insurance problems and Keith
could not secure the site this year.
Last year, I wanted to do a write up on the rally. I did not get a chance,
because shortly after our return from that trip in August, my boyfriend
crashed his bike and my time was obviously spent helping him.
We had a great time at the rally and yes, I did dump my bike once in the
sand, but that was my foolishness. I caught up with old friends and met new
ones. I got to try out the new Guzzi's and explore the beautiful area.
I did not think the rally deserved the write up in MGNOC and I felt that the
criticism was undeserved. Some people are not able to travel without all the
comforts from home -they should either trailer their bikes behind a big
winabago (not sure of the spelling) or just stay at hotels. They should not
spoil everyone's fun by complaining if there are no 4 star toilets next to
their tent. Some of us do appreciate the beauty of camping in the woods - I
believe this is the point of staying in the Adirondacks.

Andy etal. This is a goddamned shame, for me. I coulda, shoulda gone to this ralley when it was on in past years. Just, for the first time, went to the Paul Smiths campus a week ago just to see what I had been missing. What a beautiful area! (The Missus, boy and I had gone to Lake Placid.) Loops in the Adirondaks, what could be better.
