Hi Ian,
A warped intermediate plate will not allow the clutch to disengage completely.
If you have some oil or other contaminant on the clutch it could cause it to
chatter.
Or if the clutch disk itself is warped, or the lining is cracked, falling
apart
or
damaged the clutch might chatter.
Have you had the transmission out to look at the clutch yet?

Hi All, Anyone ever had to deal with a grabby clutch? My new Eldo seems to do this...more so when warm than cold. First gear is the toughest...not so much of a problem when moving and going thorugh the rest of the gears. My thoughts are that it is either an intermediate plate that warps as it gets warm or the springs or push rod is binding a bit when the clutch is eased out. Not the cables...they appear to be smooth. Any info is appreciated....Ian |
