My brother in law restores old HD's and Indians. He gave me a replacement
gasket for a HD gas cap and it fit perfect. I have also heard of using a
gasket from a oil cap from a air cooled VW

Sounds strange, but when I needed a gas cap gasket for
my Simson while living in Romania, a local cycle
mechanic sold me one made of thick felt. I was
doubtful, but it never leaked at all! The fit was
quite tight.

made from and where I can get enough for two caps?
I've got the V700 cap, which is jointed at one end and
has the bent

arm which pivots over it to keep it closed. Leaks
like crazy.
Thanks."
