Barry,
Some of the early /5 BMWs had wobble woes, I think, because of owners
incorrectly installing the front swing arm bolt, or inocorrectly installing
the bearings on the front swing arm on the Earles Forks. Done correctly, I
think, there should be no wobble (unless you're exceeding 120mph, which on a
/5 is unlikely). Bob HAwkes

Subject: Newby....wheelbase/wobbles
Hi, my name's Barry. I'm considering buying a 1970, ex LAPD Ambo 750, and I'm told it has a longer wheelbase than most, thanks to its non standard triple tree/fork angle, which gives more rake to the forks, and makes it more suited to hauling the sidecar it's attached to. My question: what's the standand wheelbase of this model, and can anyone confirm that this triple tree/long wheelbase was infact an option. I read with interest some posts to this list re speed wobbles, how common a problem is it? I have heard that the early /5 BMW's from the seventies had wobble woes, so they brought out a the long frame version. Did Guzzi do the same with the " Loopys "? Thanks alot, Barry Swanson, New Zealand. ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: 3haw-@bluefrog.biz EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here:http://topica.com/help/unsub.html.M2hhd2tl Or send an email to: Loopframe_Guzz-@topica.com TOPICA - Start your own email discussion group.
