OK, both cylinders are now firing thanks to simple installation of new disributor cap and rotor.
Now I tried to tune carbs per Pete Hayes 'tune up 101' email. Got the port side good but starboard carb keeps running high revs no matter what. I screwed in the recessed screw all the way and it still keeps reving the bike, even with the port side spark plug wire disconnected. Bob
