Rex,
I have the Bub Conti replicas on my eldo and have been happy with them. They did not come with crossovers but they do use a stabalizer bracket that bolts to the hole that would be the passenger peg or rear crashbar. As far as I know it is just used to take the weight off the exhaust pipes but I have ridden many miles without these brackets as well and the rear kickstand supports the mufflers just fine but the "experts" would probably not reccomend it. The main concern with using the Bubs for me was having to use reducer brackets as the diameter of the exhaust pipes are a bit smaller than the Bubs mufflers. The sound is subject to each individuals opinion so I will not comment on this except to say that I like them just fine.
Hope this helps.

I was considering buying a pair of new Bub mufflers for an Ambo/Eldo
which were put up for sale on this list recently. I have a '72 Eldo
which has LaFranconi's on it now. They work great but have some rusting
and pitting and also a broken mounting tab. My question is about the
crossover. There is a crossover between the two LaFranconi mufflers but
the Bub mufflers have none. If there an advantage or disadvantage to
this. Will it affect performance in any way or is it just a different
way of doing things. I have a pair of Bub Conti's on my Norton 850 and
like them a lot. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
