Bill,

Hard to get an accurate description in words. I guess I meant to say that
the arms on the battery tray had not been totally cut back but cut back to
the first set of bolt holes.

The right side end of the police battery tray is supposed to be short..
(or cut off).. but he cut all the way back to the tray? that is weird..

 Hey All,

Pretty much tore the frame of the Eldo down to the frame
sub-parts. All that
is left is the steering head assembly (I have to take that to
the shop to
get an impact wrench on that lower nut) and the center stand.

Everything looks pretty good with the components. Of course all
the bolts
and exterior stuff was corroded (sitting outside at the PO's
place did not
help) but the main components are in good shape. So nice not to have to
worry about replacing swing arm bearings, Ujoint (which was
perfect), etc...

One question that I have for the list is that on the frame it
appears that
the cross brace just below the swing arm has either been broken
or cut out.
Hard to see what I mean from the parts manual but it is the
cross support
that generally holds the rear brake stop cutout switch. The cross brace
above the swing arm holds the battery tray.

Since my only reference is a Civilian Model I was wondering if
the Police
Models had that cross brace removed. Also...the PO had cut the
ends off the
battery try....the parts that connect to the fender. Weird.

Any input would be welcome and if anyone has a spare battery
tray I think I
could use it. Contact me off list.

Thanks in advance...Ian
