Thanks for the thought but no. The ones I pulled out of my Eldo engine were
just as bad. I will have to find a front and rear main bearing from a decent
low mileage parts bike or order new. That won't be cheap.

He did a very neat job of fabrication to create a third mounting point for the generator bracket. Thanks to the list for their exhaustive tips on this topic. If the motor looks funny it's because it is a '77 roundhead that I got out of an SP rolling basket I bought. I spoze I could have run it without all the hassle of de-alternation but real loops have generators so here we are. The second photo is for Mr. Ian Adkins. I found this at the bottom of the parts box. Trash or treasure? In the photo you can see the accumulation of debris on the bearing surface. You don't really want this in your motor, do you Ian?
