Joe-
Thanks for your answer.
I will try to get a digital picture of the rear wheel from the left side
to show the brake assembly. Should the brake plate look just like an
Eldo front? The notch in the brake plate (which on the front end would
engage with the left side fork tube) is facing down about 6-7 o'clock.
There is a nut and bolt on the brake plate in this area holding the
brake arm to the frame.
TLS on the rear? Never heard of such a thing...

Stephen, Don't panic, you have the correct rear brake on your V7 Sport. The Loopframe TLS fit because there was no cush drive employed on the Sports. It might be worthwhile to install an 850-T rear wheel & brake to have the cush. Might also want to consider the T rear drive, especially if you plan on a lot of 2-up riding (my opinion is the Sports were geared entirely too tall). I'm still using the small starter on my '73 V7 Sport & it works ok, but I think the later Bosch starter would be a reliability upgrade. The little starters are unobtanium, so it might be wise to keep it on the shelf. Good luck & enjoy the Sport! It's all together and running, but it has been sitting for 1-2 years, so I am rebuilding the carbs, changeing all the fluids, and looking at the wiring real closely. One VERY strange modification some PO did was to install a twin leading shoe front brake assy from an Ambo/Eldo onto the rear wheel. This will come off and be restored to the proper brake arrangement real soon. Eldo Mike, are you there with parts? I'll be contacting you soon. The V7 came with a heavy starter motor installed (Ambo/Eldo style) and the little (proper V7) starter in a box. Question for the common consensus: Is the little starter really that bad? -s (a 2 guzzi family) _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
