While we loopers are used to exemplary service from the respective guzzi
shops (mark and josh, gordon and rick, Erik Green) my dealings with the
world outside of loopland often makes me want to bang my head against the
wall. Which is why I feel the need to give a big public Nice Job to
Progressive Suspension. You all know I bought my bike used...really really
used. As the shocks on my bike (progressive model 12s) were pretty good (a
rarity on this bike), I decided to clean them up and use them, keeping the
loop budget down. Well the bushings were fairly shot and whoever installed
the old metal retainers on the bushings used the wrong size and then sleeved
them (1/2 of said sleeves were lost when I stripped the bike down). I have
spoken with Progressive twice, the first time they sent me the bushings
gratis and the second time they send me the complete mounting kit (I didn't
realized I needed it the first time) again free. Now why I realize these
aren't exactly million dollar parts, keep in mind that I didn't buy the
shocks from them, the previous owner did. They could have told me that I was
SOL and to buy a new set of shocks or charged me for a mounting kit. Instead
they were really nice on their techline and geniunely wanted to help me. Its
the small things that count and I thought this deserved some public praise.
Not hard to guess where my next set of shocks are coming from.
Happy Holidays Fellas,
Chris
