Actually the 10W -40 is fine in the summer. In the winter 5W-20 is a
real good choice. I rode my first Ambo year round . My oil of choice in
the late 70s was 20W Texaco Havoline Aircraft oil in winter. The results
were excellent. It is better to err on the side of too lite rather than
too heavy if most of your driving is less than 150 miles from a cold
start.

I have had 10w40 in it on plenty of warm days without any problems, but one hot day in stop-and-go traffic in Philly the oil light started flickering at idle. That was before I changed the con-rod bearings. -Mike, '69 Ambo ===== M.Jones, student of philosophy and religion at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
