Martin, does yours actually have that separate blue/black wire running
from the coil to the tach? There is a spare blade terminal on the coil,
but it's clearly never had a connector on it. Looking at the diagram in
the manual, it appears this wire just supplies 12V to the tach. The
blue wire from the idiot light harness on mine would do the same thing.
Also, I looked again, and the connectors on the back of the tach have
little + and - signs (in addition to the ground stud).
Of course, if my tach is duff also, all this is for nothing!
