Subject: Generator light on/Ambassador

Went to take the Ambo for a ride yesterday. Had it on the Battery
Tender overnight just for routine maintenance. When I fied it up,
noticed that the generator light was on very bright. Didn't notice that
on the last ride but MIGHT have come on before I parked it last,
definitely not on before that. Checked battery voltage with engie
running--12.45V no change with revving engine. Cursory exam of voltage
regulator didn't reveal any loose wires, etc. Have Guzziology and
Premier manual and can follow them, but wondered what's the most likely
Problem? Was going to try re-exciting field coils, then check inside
regulator for sticking/dirty contacts, then pul ank and check generator.
Whaddya think??
